OUR COURSE STRUCTURE
It's important to note that all our training courses are 100% online and self-paced. In other words, no face-to-face visits are required.
At the Saint-Bernard Academy, we focus on flexibility so you can get the most out of your training. You can start your course at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from anywhere. You have up to ten (10) weeks to complete the course, which means you can do your lessons when it's most convenient for you.
The theory
Our training courses are composed of readings supported by illustrations to ensure a good understanding of the topics explained.
They are organized in blocks of readings relating to the various subjects to be assimilated.
Practical sessions
This is a fundamental and, of course, mandatory requirement of our training courses. Thanks to our automated system, you'll progress at your own pace, while benefiting from step-by-step guidance.
In the reading preceding the practice, you will be invited to create your own CPR dummy using everyday objects, so that you can perform the first aid techniques step by step.
During the practical session, you will be asked to start a video animation and follow the steps presented and outlined. To ensure that the minimum practice time is respected, our system does not allow you to continue training until it has been completed.
In addition to the training video, our "RCR - ASB " mobile app can help you practice CPR maneuvers in a learning context or in a real-life situation. Download the app.
*Please note that the app is however, for now, only available in French.
The evaluations
At the end of each reading block, you'll be asked to complete a multiple-choice test to assess your understanding of the concepts presented.
You will have a maximum of 60 minutes to complete it. While this may seem like a long time, most tests are short and quick to complete.
The pass mark for moving on to the next block of readings is 80%. In the event of failure, don't worry, you have up to 10 attempts. Of course, if you're having trouble, don't hesitate to contact us before you've reached the maximum number of attempts.
In addition, for each question of our tests, the "Need a hint?" button offers further explanations designed to help you understand. Once you've completed and submitted the test, you will receive your results immediately, along with explanations to help you understand the correct and incorrect answers.
The certification
As soon as you have successfully completed your course, you will automatically receive your official certificate in electronic format. You can then download it, e-mail it or print it out as you wish. In other words, there's no need to wait - you will have your certificate in your possession as soon as your training is completed and passed. There's also no need to worry about losing your certificate, as it will be available at all times in your profile under the "Certificates" tab.
Each certificate is unique and secured by a QR code guaranteeing its authenticity.
Our CPR and First Aid training courses comply with the latest national standards for Emergency Cardiovascular Care and First Aid. As a result, you'll obtain a valid certification, on the same level as that offered by the major organizations.
Please note that our certificates are issued in digital format only. If you would like a printed, laminated version of your certificate, simply contact us to request one.

At the Saint-Bernard Academy, we believe that understanding medical vocabulary is essential for effective first aid interventions. That's why we provide you with a comprehensive medical lexicon that references the important and complex terms used in our training courses. With this tool, you can deepen your understanding of key medical concepts, boosting your confidence and ability to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations.
In addition, with the exception of the tests, all the readings from your course remain available should you need to review certain concepts during and after your training. As long as your certificate remains valid, you can review any of the readings to refresh your memory at your convenience, thus building your skills and confidence over time.
