Training tailored to homecare workers

Académie Saint-Bernard's "Secourisme - Niveau intermédiaire (16h)" (First Aid - Intermediate Level (16h)) training course is specifically designed to meet the needs of Home Care Attendants (HCAs). PABs play a crucial role in the care of beneficiaries in private seniors' residences (RPAs) and other healthcare environments. To ensure the safety and well-being of these beneficiaries, it is essential that PABs are well trained in first aid and resuscitation.

Training objectives

The main objective of our "First Aid - Intermediate Level (16h)" training course is to provide attendants and supervisors in Private Residences for the Elderly (RPA) with adequate first aid training. This training aims to :

  • Reinforce first aid skills
    • Participants will learn essential skills for responding to medical emergencies, including airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bleeding management and more.
  • Facilitating regulatory compliance
    • RPPs are required to meet strict standards for resident safety and well-being. By taking our training, facility managers can ensure that their staff are properly trained to meet emergency medical needs in accordance with CSA Z-1210-17.
  • Issuing a certificate of achievement
    • At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion issued by Académie Saint-Bernard. This certificate will serve as tangible proof of their intermediate-level first aid training, making it easier to demonstrate compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for first aid training.

Académie Saint-Bernard's "Secourisme - Niveau intermédiaire (16h)" training program is an exceptional opportunity for orderlies and healthcare professionals to acquire essential first aid skills while complying with the most stringent CSA standards. Our commitment to the safety and well-being of beneficiaries is at the heart of our training program, and we are proud to contribute to the preparation of highly skilled and competent healthcare professionals.
